License to Carry Denied - Need Assistance Please

I was wondering if anyone call tell me how a person can find out who has a concealed weapons permit? Once it is denied is there a possibility that it would end up being approved? I would appreciate any knowledge that you can share with me.

You can't, not without committing a felony ... although,

Sometimes the issue will come up in a criminal case as part of the public record or it will get blurted out by a cop on the scene of an "investigation" involving a licensee and get reported in the news.

18 Pa.C.S. § 6111(g)(3.1)

Any person, licensed dealer, licensed manufacturer or licensed importer who knowingly and intentionally obtains or furnishes information collected or maintained pursuant to section 6109 for any purpose other than compliance with this chapter or who knowingly or intentionally disseminates, publishes or otherwise makes available such information to any person other than the subject of the information commits a felony of the third degree.

So unless someone tells you or the information is made public in some other manner, you are not finding out.

While you are welcome I am concerned about the potential reason you may hope to be able to do so. I suppose that doesn't matter much though.

Privacy issues are a big deal and I for one am very glad we do not have public lists of gun owners/carriers in PA like some states do.

I forgot one way to find out, conversations between dispatch and police officers in PA in a call involving the licensee.


The only verification systems for licenses found in statute is a telephone number, but the PSP has gone ahead and just linked the licensee information into CLEAN anyway.

There are a whole host of legal and privacy concerns over that move, but the PSP has a history of blatantly ignoring such things so that comes as no surprise.

what is CLEAN?

Is the phone number to verify the license public information? Many students ask in our Utah and Arizona classes if the number to verify a PA License is pulbic knowledge to provide to an officer if stopped.

Possession of a LTCF does not indicate firearm ownership. I know several people who have LTCFs that own no firearms and have no firearms in their home.

But there's probably a strong correlation between the two. I can understand someone being concerned that if a bad guy knew they had an LTCF that he would think they had a gun.
