Default Do you think this was appropriate at Dicks Sporting Goods

Yesterday I went to the Dicks Sporting Goods connected to the Coventry Mall right outside of Pottstown in Montgomery County. I had a $10 gift certificate and figured i would see if they sold those Uncle Mike's Sidekick holsters so i could get one for my .357. I did not see any holsters in the obvious places so i asked a store employee back in the hunting area if they sell handgun holsters. He replied no because they dont sell handguns. (Thought the answer was dumb since they sell ammo for handguns and even walmart sells holsters but that was just a thought) He then asks me "You dont have a handgun on you, do you?" I replied no because I really did not. He then says "Ok, thats good sir." As i left i checked the entrances for signs prohibiting firearms however i only saw one stating if you are getting a firearm or archery equipment SERVICED, it must be checked in. Then I started wondering if that employee is even permitted to ask customers if they are carrying. (he is not security or LEO) Then i wondered why if i am looking for a holster, I am assumed to be carrying. If I look for a shotgun case, does that mean I have a shotgun strapped on my back? I just felt like it was an ignorant and inappropriate question for him to have asked me. Would anybody else feel this way?

Oh... ya, I forgot about that minor detail. Whenever that happens to me and it involves a shitty store, I quickly pick something that comes exactly to the amount of the gift card and get the hell out of there.

He's not the Gestapo, he's some dude working at Dicks. Maybe he's an idiot.

He didn't actually tell you to do, or not to do, anything. If you thought he was a dick, call the manager. Myself, I would let it go. Stupid people need work, too, and he didn't interfere with my day.

It's your business, but why weren't you carrying?

Dick's is the worst place to shop for Firearm related stuff, they are overpriced and the employees working in the firearms dept dont know squat.

People can ask anything they want, you don't have to answer.

Personally, I get offended when some one asks me how my day is going. Bastards, none of their fucking business.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I agree 100%. That being said, people still ask me stuff that is none of their business all the time. I just don't answer their question the way they would like.
