No pro-gun candidate
It's looking pretty grim for gun owners now.
Hillary = Sucks off the Brady Camp. Rabbidly anti-gun
Osama = Just as bad as Hillary
McCain = Supports the AWB
Romney = Supports the AWB
Huckabee = Seems to be the only pro2a candidate. Not a chance in hell he'll get it.
I guess we're going to need to put a veto proof majority of Republicans in congress in order to keep our gun rights. Or do as the consititution allows us to do... drag their asses into the street and shoot them for shitting on the bill of rights.

Re: No pro-gun candidate
Clinton = Likely Democratic Party Presidential nominee.
Obama = Likely Democratic Party Vice - Presidential nominee.
McCain = Likely Republican Party Presidential nominee.
Romney = Suspended his campaign today, not the likely nominee.
Huckabee = Possible Republican Party Vice - Presidential nominee.
1. Exercise all of our legal rights to sway/coerce/convert the candidates to staunchly support the 2nd Amendment.
2. Vote for the candidate that best fits the bill.
3. Pray that he wins.
Stay well.

Re: No pro-gun candidate
True enough but Ron Paul isn't going to get the nomination let alone elected so we are down to those that probably will.
As it is looking now McCain is probably going to get the GOP nomination. Will he sign an AWB if it is put on his desk? Probably, but Hillary or Obama is going to request one specifically and it will likely be far more severe.
McCain isn't my first choice for alot of reasons. Perhaps though Huckabee will end up his VP choice and help protect our 2A.

Re: No pro-gun candidate
You don't. Problem is that our choices for November are going to be made long before anyone in PA gets to vote in the primaries.
Sure you can write in Ron Paul in November but don't kid yourself in thinking it is a 'protest' vote. All it will be is one less vote for the lesser of two evils.
Real change in our government is never going to come from the top down. If you really want Libertarians like Ron Paul or some other true third party then you need to start getting them in at the local levels.
It is like the nonsense being spoken of by the Evangelists about running a third candidate because McCain isn't conservative enough for them. Well Hillary or Obama definately isn't either and they are the only other ones who are going to get a chance in November.
Is it ideal or right? Not at all. But it is the way it happens to be and once again it isn't going to change overnight or in the next couple of months.
There are alot of people who while they may actually like Ron Pauls message realize that his election would only result in nothing being accomplished. As appealing as that thought is to me personally, many people actually want some changes to occur.

Re: No pro-gun candidate
No matter who the President is a pro-gun majority in Congress (or even just one house of congress) would be a great thing and would end the idiocy as long as they stayed true to their beliefs. So for no the answer is to put true conservatives back in Congress regardless of who the President is.
