1st Wheelgun - S&W 64
I picked up one of the former OH Dept. of Correction revolvers from Robertson Trading Post for $279. It's a S&W 64-5 in 38 Spcl. Has light scratches and other minor wear, but mechanically sound. Shot it a week ago and was going to post my target but my buddy shot at it and ruined it, lol.
Then I came across a guy from OH over on the CMP forum selling a bunch of speed loaders as well as some extra holsters/pouches/belts that were from the prisons. So I bought some to go with the gun. Belt/holster/pouch/3 speed loaders for $35 shipped... can't complain.
I'm happy with it.

Very cool!
There's definitely a lot of deals to be had on used S&W revolvers. Looks like you got one of the better ones.

They post a bunch of pictures (which is great) and describe each firearm very well. Just took me awhile to look through all the different ones to make a decision.

Classic revolvers that were carried, one version or another in the form of a model 64,65,66, by the majority of police departments from the mid 70s to the late 80s when the hi-cap wonder 9s took over.

Nothing like a fixed sight service revolver. Congrats on the new K frame!

Here's a few more shots that show more of the small knicks/light scratches for those of you interested in checking these out.

A most excellent pick-up, dooood! It is one of the best shooting 38spl's you'll ever find at that price. The only downside is the cost of ammo, so if you don't reload already, this is good excuse to start. Good luck with it.
