    Default Ugly 1911s?

I know it's like an oxy moron but is it just me Or are the 1911s with the black slide, silver frame and brown grips ugly. Idk I think it's way to many colors clashing and they remind me of parts guns. I like probably every other style parked, chrome, blAck, stainless, matte finish in any colors but these guns with a bunch of colors suck and it bothers me so much I would probably pass on it for lower quality one.

It's all personal preference. So you don't have to purchase anything you don't want to.

While it wasn't a 1911, I had a duotone BERSA Thunder 380 (Black slide, Silver frame and Black grips). I was going to swap the black grips out for Walnut ones.

The black slide and stainless frame is my least favorite look on a 1911 even if it makes more sense than the reverse (black slide cuts down on glare in sunlight). Was always a fan of an all black 1911 or all stainless. My SIG C3 doesn’t look too bad though with the stainless slide and black frame.

Personally the most unappealing thing that is found on a 1911 are the front slide serrations. Some look worse than others but IMHO none look as good as those without. I love the SW1911 but their front serrations for some reason look about as bad as it gets to me. Maybe it’s because they are narrower? I don’t know. It seems like the tighter the front serrations are the worse they look to me.

There’s something about the clean look of a 1911 with only simple rear serrations.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of SS, nickle or bi color handguns. I like the 1911 in black with SS trim; like SS slide & mag releases, trigger, bushing, etc.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though & that's just my opinion.

Pintos are a classic of the early days of IPSC. I like them.

BTW, is an "oxy moron" the guy who sold "OXY Clean" at 2 AM?

Bi-tone 1911's were all the rage for competition guns back in the 90's. I built my own on a stainless Safari Arms frame and blued Gold Cup NM Series 70 slide and barrel. Check out the American Handgunner issues from back then and have a chuckle.

I dont like 2 tone anything, that includes cars, clothes, as for Guns, a stainless gun should be stainless and a blued gun should be blue, but some two tones guns do look nice but i wouldnt own one..
