Re: traffic stop gone bad
Besides they would have to get a warrant to search it, they would have to have a reasonable articulable suspicion that a crime has been committed. What crime are you committing by having your legally obtained firearm and license to carry in a vehicle?
So what if it is in the glove box. If there is no crime in having these items on your person or in your car then there is no reason for the Police officer to remove your legally owned items from your possession.
If you feel strongly about answering the question then you can say for "OUR" safety I locked the weapon in the glove box, here is my LTCF. No you may NOT search my vehicle. Thank you for the ticket have a nice day.Last edited by bigandy1966; February 14th, 2012 at 06:51 PM.

This may be another reason to not have the firearm "on" you when driving. I built a center console for my work van with a slot in it that my .45 slides in holster and all. My plan is if i am pulled over and asked about firearms in the vehicle i will say my firearm is secured not on my person. If asked if they can remove it i will respond, with a search warrant. I'm sure i will be asked to step out of the vehicle, while exiting the vehicle i will lock it and put the keys in my pocket.
Thats my plan, Hope i never need to use itI wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member
