Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- A new investigative report from the Daily Caller reveals shocking details from former staffers and other insiders about the going’s on with-in the most high profile Progressive Propaganda Machine; Media Matters.

The interviews reveal that Media Matters Founder David Brock has been previously treated for mental illness, publicly admitted to using illegal drugs, including cocaine, is quite likely a paranoid delusional to the point that he believes ” right wing snipers “ are hiding in the shadows and was more concerned about the potential loss of funding from Progressive benefactors like George Soros when word leaked that his personal aide was regularly committing a felony by illegally carrying a concealed Glock handgun in public in Washington DC, one of the most virulently Anti gun area’s of the Country.

“David Brock was smoking a cigarette on the roof of his Washington, D.C. office one day in the late fall of 2010 when his assistant and two bodyguards suddenly appeared and whisked him and his colleague Eric Burns down the stairs.

Brock, the head of the liberal nonprofit Media Matters for America, had told friends and co-workers that he feared he was in imminent danger from right-wing assassins and needed a security team to keep him safe.

The threat he faced while smoking on his roof? “Snipers,” a former co-worker recalled.

“He had more security than a Third World dictator,” one employee said, explaining that Brock’s bodyguards would rarely leave his side, even accompanying him to his home in an affluent Washington neighborhood each night where they “stood post” to protect him. “What movement leader has a detail?” asked someone who saw it. “

Interviews also revealed the extent to which cable news channel MSNBC and the vast majority of the left leaning Main Stream Media were and remain in the tank for the left.

” The group operates in regular coordination with the highest levels of the Obama White House, as well as with members of Congress and progressive groups around the country. Brock, who collected over $250,000 in salary from Media Matters in 2010, has himself become a major fundraiser on the left. According to an internal memo obtained by TheDC, Media Matters intends to spend nearly $20 million in 2012 to influence news coverage.

Donors have every reason to expect success, as the group’s effect on many news organizations has already been profound. “We were pretty much writing their prime time,” a former Media Matters employee said of the cable channel MSNBC. “But then virtually all the mainstream media was using our stuff.”

For years the left has mockingly dismissed observations of nakedly left leaning bias in the [so called] “Main Stream Media” as ridiculous. With these revelations from people on the inside, it would seem no one could credibly claim otherwise anymore.

And then there’s the explosive issue of Brock’s personal aide illegally carrying a concealed Glock pistol, which is a felony in Washington DC. One wonders exactly where the pistol came from, since Washington Times Reporter Emily Miller series, “Emily Gets Her Gun” recently documented, in a series for her paper; the absurd lengths a law abiding Citizen must go through in order to legally acquire a handgun in the District

“By 2010, Brock’s personal assistant, a man named Haydn Price-Morris, was carrying a holstered and concealed Glock handgun when he accompanied Brock to events, including events in Washington, D.C., a city with famously restrictive gun laws. Price-Morris told others he carried the gun to protect Brock from threats.

Late in 2010, other Media Matters employees learned about Price-Morris’s gun, and he was fired due to their objections. No public announcement was made.

According to one source with knowledge of what happened next, Brock was “terrified” that news of the gun would leak. “George Soros and a lot of groups connected to gun control are funding this group, and they wouldn’t be too happy that an employee of Media Matters was carrying a gun, especially when it was illegal in D.C.”

This is the well documented attitude of the progressive, Anti Gun left: The rules don’t apply to them, the rules are for ” the little people “.

Recall that Brady Campaign Founder and Chair, Sarah Brady admitted in her book published in the 1990′s that she purchased a rifle for her son in a Lewes Delaware gun shop, a purchase that conceivably would have been a violation of both State and Federal Laws as they relate to a Non Resident purchasing a firearm in another State and a potential “ straw purchase” , something the left has been beating the drum about for the last few years and even protesting legitimate gun shops over, due to their intentional mangling of ATF ” trace reports “, documents that the ATF itself admits should never be used to try to establish any type of trafficking patterns regarding how guns wind up in the hands of criminals.

For all their manufactured concern over criminal use of firearms, it’s telling that there hasn’t been a peep from a single one of the various Anti Gun Groups or their spokespersons over the Fast and Furious Scandal, where the ATF, ICE, DHS and FBI were caught red handed engaging in an active conspiracy to arm Mexican Drug Cartels in order to fabricate support for a renewed domestic gun control policy Stateside.

Surely the revelation that the head of the lefts propaganda machine employed an aide that illegally carried a handgun will not rate even a single sentence of coverage, especially when its obvious Media Matters writes the coverage the Mainstream Media peddles to an ignorant public as “news“

You can bet if this guy was in NJ as opposed to DC, he would have somehow been able to prove "justifiable need" and gotten a carry permit, even though the only threats he got were in his head.

Liberals are famous for inventing a problem so that they can force a solution, which should be all you need to know about why he's 'justifying' his assistant armed with a Glock.

While I agree that the DC law is crap and he SHOULD be allowed to conceal carry anything he damn well pleases, the fact is that he cannot, it is illegal, and this douchebag is a huge proponent of taking guns away from EVERYONE....else.
