    Default s&w rear revolver site

I have a smith 17 that has the rear sight removed with a scope mount in it's place. Would anyone know where I could get a whole rear assembly so i can put it back to iron sights?

What is the "dash" number on your model 17? S&W used two sight assemblies and a number of different blade heights. Early guns had a square end on the "tongue" and later guns used a rounded end.
The square end sights are only available as used parts. The rounded end assemblies are readily available at parts dealers like Brownells:

Thanks for the replies. I have a 17-3. I did contact S&W with the model number and their reply was the site for this one was no longer available through them. They did suggest several sources but I'm still looking and trying to get a little Smith education. I bought this with the sight removed and a one piece mount and millet red dot on it. Of course the previous owner didn't hang on to the sight.

A 17-3 would have the square front tongue.
