A GIFTED GUN
I am curious as to the trade in or resale of a gifted gun?
I gave my son a S&W CS45 for Christmas one year. It was regestered to me and given to him. Now what happens if he goes to trade that in or resell it must I be present?
Since a gifted gun does not need to be re-regestered what happens?
Thanks,
LnL

Nothing special needs to be done. It is his now not yours. It was never registered because there is no registry in PA. There is a sales database but once he sells it, the new owner will be "linked" to that pistol.

Re: A GIFTED GUN
As stated, as soon as you gave it to him, it was his to do with as he saw fit. The only place your name was associated with that gun was in the sales database. As soon as it gets transferred to someone else, their name is in the sales database attached to that particular gun.
No different than if you gave it to your son through your will (no transfer paperwork there either), you couldn't go with him if he sold it could you? (unless you know something I don't )Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member
