Good action pistol practice/training in/near Pittsburgh
I live in Pittsburgh (Allison Park, specifically.)
What's the best way/place to practice for action pistol (USPSA/IDPA?) Standing and shooting at the range is okay, but it isn't all that helpful when it comes to action pistol.
Thanks

Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen's Club (PMSC) has ISPC and I believe now IDPA practice.

They do action pistol at my club, Clairton Sportsmens Club.

Action pistol seems very fun to me and useful training. But getting started intimidates me. Does Clairton specifically, and other clubs in general expect you to know what's up or is there a time and place for them to walk you through and show you the ropes?
I quoted BigDukeSix but if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.

PMSC has IPSC practice every Thursday night (indoors in the winter and outdoors as soon as the sun stays up past 7PM). Beginners are welcome!
They also have a IDPA program.

I know they have a practice day at CSC. And I think they like to get a feel for new shooters. That stuff is fun and practical. But can be dangerous also. Take a look at their website. I think the guys who run it have their email addresses there if you have any questions. I'm sure they'd respond.

Oh and no I haven't shot the course. My schedule doesn't allow for me to do too much weekend shooting.

Plenty of places around here with action shooting - Homewood, Beltzhoover, California-Kirkbride, Northview Heights, Aliquippa... lots of shooters, and they don't need to police their brass.

Yeah but the dress code of flat brim ball cap over the ears, saggy pants, 12x tshirt and range requirement to hold the weapon sideways doesn't fit my particular style.
