    Default Another Dumb Question

    Got another probably dumb question. What is the law in regard to carrying ammunition? For example, would it be a problem if I gave my fiance a couple of mags to keep in her purse for me even if she's not licensed? (She's actually not yet a citizen so not sure if that makes a difference) I'm not sure if there is a law against carrying ammunition if you're not carrying a gun, but always best to check.

    The law is silent on such. So, it's not illegal for her to carry as much ammunition as you can cram into her purse. Whether she'll be able to lift it, however, is a different matter.

    I believe there are some federal and/or state prohibitions to even touching ammo (or carrying it) if you have been convicted of certain crimes. Other than that, she'd be fine to be your ammo carrier

    She could keep every part of the gun in her purse, except the
    receiver, but why would you want to be physically separate from
