Rock island armory 1911's in central PA
I've been considering a rock island or Taurus 1911.I have shot the Taurus 1911's and love them but i'm poor these days so gun budget has gone down. anyone know any shops in the Harrisburg or york area that carry the rock island armory 1911's in stock? I would like to check one out in person before i make any final decisions.

Backwoods Outfitters in Columbia is a great shop. In E-Town/Rheems - there is also Lancaster Tactical at the RR station, Bullseye Shooters Supply across from KMART, and Trop/Kinsey's at Cloverleaf off Rheems/Rt 283 exit. They have reviews in the other forum section.
I love my Armscor High Standard. It is a RIA with more subdued markings on the left side of slide and come with checkered walnut grips. (same factory/warranty) They are not as common in stores. Getting time to re-blue it though.Last edited by KMAG; February 10th, 2012 at 10:26 PM.
Why do people fearing guns call persons with guns (cops) when threatened?

Kinda interesting how red dog refers to himself in the third person all the time. He is mechanicsburg ordinance.
Anyway, I second the centerfiresystems.com remark. None of the local shops can touch their prices on rock island arms 1911s... Especially in the Harrisburg-York-MECHANICSBURG area.
If you are close enough, I would recommend using Albright arms in Carlisle as your ffl. He only charges $10.60 for transfers. Most other places in the area charge in excess of $30 to receive a gun for you.The Beauty of the 2nd Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

Also, if you need to fondle one first, try lancaster tactical. They seem to have Tons of 1911's in stock all the time.

Belding & Mull in Philipsburg has them in stock, but it's a bit of a drive from York. Maybe 2:30 one-way, something like that.
