I built a few, head over to Weapons Guild they can walk you through anything...
You can only draw so many lines in the sand before you are backed into a corner...

Re: AK Builders?
I've built a couple. I used a guide I found online, it was step by step with pictures and it was spot on.
I found it pretty easy to do but my question for you is are you going from a reciever flat or one that is already bent. If you start with a flat you are going to need a press.“It's not a gun control problem; it's a cultural control problem.” Bob Barr

Re: AK Builders?
WARNING !!! WARNING !!! WARNING !!! DO NOT USE PRO-TECH / ADVANCED TECH ENGINEERING!!!!!! The guy that runs it name is Jim Gravity. He advertises in Shotgun News and is from Saybrook, Illinois. I have already reported that business to no avail. He stated he would deliver my AK build in 2 months, 3 months tops. I sent him my kit in August with a check being cashed September 1st and I'm still waiting on my rifle after repeated phone calls, excusses, reasons, delays, you name it.
I'm going to try one last phone call tomorrow to see if he will ship it back to me completed or not, otherwise I have no other option than calling the ATF and reporting my MPi-KM AK-47 stolen. I do not know what to do legally.
DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: AK Builders?
I built my first one this past year. I would go to youtube and type in buildyourownak into the search bar. When I was researching it I found this guy's page and found the info he had in his videos very good. I would also check out ak-builder too. Your best bet is to buy a kit from there with a barrel already head spaced. It will make it easier. One sucky thing is that the tools are kind of expensive. But shop around for them. Its also a good idea to use a 12-20 ton press, don't go any smaller. I will think of some more things. You can do it yourself, but its a lot harder then an ar15 in my opinion. PM me if you have any question. I spent several months researching before I decided to build. I hope this helps.
