Default just had a WALMART encounter...

so i'm in walmart picking up a few things, this is the walmart on egypt/trooper road...

    650 S Trooper Rd
    Norristown, PA 19403
    Phone: (610) 631-6750
    Asst Managers on duty: Dan

manager walks up to me and says:

    manager: are you law enforcement?
    me: no
manager: in the state of pa you have to conceal
    me: your incorrect
manager: do you have a conceal weapons permit?
    me: no
manager: so you don't have a permit to conceal?
    me: no
    manager: so your carrying illegally?
    me: no
manager: well if you wanna stay in this store you have to conceal that fiream.

me: 1st off, pa does not issue conceal carry permits, the state issues license to carry firearms so i do not have to conceal and i don't need a pa state issued license to carry firearms to openly carry a firearm...

i will definitely be firing off and email the hq about this incident and the only reason i didn't return the items i had just literally purchased was because i promised my kids i'd get them today and i wanted to surprise them...

once i got to the car, i had to laugh after the stupid look on the managers face once i corrected him...

    Ok.

But don't forget... The guy's a retail manager for the souless monster of Wallyworld. His life probably sucks enough, so be gentle but firm.

Have you worked retail? True managers actually get decent benefits and pay; it's the low-level supervisors and those beneath them I feel sorry for.

The management level might suck a bit, but they have the perk of having a hoard of part-time and low-wage hourly workers that they can dump their workload onto.

So you were essentially being a prick.

At least doing so didn't land you in cuffs.

What post makes you think he was a dick?

I don't see it but I know I want to pick up the phone and ask Dan if he's a lawyer and if he thinks he can give legal advice without going to jail for it.

Also I'd like to ask him if he values his job, if he values his job enough to know and honor company policy regardless of his personal political views, and also, if he just doesn't read company policy or chooses to ignore it?

But then I'm sort of in a dick sort of mood. Wait. Nope, I'm in complete asshole mode.

Well, the whole argumentative thing over terminology was going to do nothing but piss the guy off. Why wait until the "end" to "educate"?

Hey, we're all different, but pushing the manager's buttons is a good way to have a squad car waiting outside the door.

Sorry, but this forum isn't solely for patting each other on the back. I think the OP handled it poorly - not "OMG, you'll ruin it for everyone" poorly, but not as well as it could have been. Someone else though, may want to give him a high five. That's the way it goes here.
