glock holster question
Do the plastic glock holster that release the gun when you push the button scratch or damage the gun? I like that holster for OC but have heard they scratch up your gun pretty good. Please let me know what you think.

Re: glock holster question
"Does the Blackhawk Serpa(or maybe iTac)cause excessive holster wear or damage? I like using the Serpa(or iTac)for OCing my Glock but I'm worried my gun will get damaged. Please express your opinions on the matter."
(Roughly Translated)
It really depends on the firearm. I haven't noticed any wear on my Glock 17 from either the CQC Serpa nor the Dropleg Duty Serpa. However on my Sig there are slight rub marks on the trigger guard from the locking mechanism. So I would say no your gun won't "get scratched up pretty good" but over time there will be rub off/wear on metal surfaces just as there would be with any other holster.

The glock finish is very tough. I use a Safariland with a thumb break

Re: glock holster question
Ignore the translation thing. Some posts need them, yours did not. IMO any holster will, over time, leave some sort of marks on a pistol. It is whats referred to as holster wear. The Glock is not exactly a show pistol so a little wear and tear should be nothing to worry about.

Re: glock holster question
I use a Kydex holster for IDPA with my G17. I've drawn it thousands of times and the only wear is on the frame on either side of the trigger guard, but that's where my holster grips the gun. The finish on the Glock slide is amazing. I've dropped mine on asphault and there are no visible marks. I really wouldn't worry about the finish on a Glock in any kind of holster.

Re: glock holster question
I open carry a G19 in a Safariland duty holster. I have a G26 that I carry in a Blackhawk Serpa. Both show very minor wear, but that is expected from being in a holster.
