S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
Saw this over on the Sig Forum. Apex Tactical Specialities is preparing to
release drop in trigger kits that will reduce the trigger pull to 4lbs and
reduce trigger reset up to 40% for around $29.00. Going over to check
out more info at www.apextactical.comFUNDAMENTALS

Re: S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
I already have trigger job from Burwell. But extractor is something of interest...
Where do you see it saying it drops trigger weight to 4lb?
it says
"The APEX Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (DCAEK) was designed to provide the M&P (9 mm, .357 Sig & .40 only) pistol owner a smooth, consistent 5 - 5.5 lb trigger pull with the advantages of shorter over-travel and reduced reset."Last edited by Mity2; March 24th, 2010 at 05:53 PM.

Re: S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
I had a wonderful trigger job on my M&P which I proptly made mushy because I couldn't leave well enough alone. I always thought the stock M&P sear was a little soft so I just ordered a hard sear. I'll let you guys know how it feels and if I don't like it it's back to the gunsmith for more tweaking.

The reduction on the trigger reset up to 40% was information posted
by a member of the SigForum.com this date. I have not had a chance to
check out this information yet and the factual source. Working on it
presently.FUNDAMENTALS

Re: S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
You're looking at the wrong product, I believe. Their hard sear says it will improve over-travel and sear reset characteristics, and then says it will "dramatically reduce the trigger pull weight." This all jives with what was in the original post, including the cost of $29.99.
I don't see anything about a replacement extractor though.Last edited by levib; March 24th, 2010 at 09:09 PM.

Re: S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
If the Hard Sear lowers the trigger pull to 4-4.5lbs then wouldn't the Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (DCAEK) lower the trigger pull as well as it contains the Hard Sear? Do you maybe give up that 1lb of trigger pull in favor of a shorter reset?

Re: S&W M&P Drop in Trigger Kits & Extractors
I have the Apex Tactical products in both my M&P 9c and M&P Pro. I have the hard sear and the Firing pin block. Adding both of these have dramatically improved the trigger feel on both units. I bought these items before the complete kit was available. The kit includes the Hard Sear, The Firing pin Block and spring, a new stiffer sear spring and a new stiffer trigger return spring. it is the addition of the last two springs that bring up the weight of the pull. Right now The trigger on both guns is extremely smooth. The takeup is still there, but the break is nice and clean and the reset is much shorter and you can feel it a little more when it resets. I'm probably going to put in an order for the extra springs soon, just to have. I definitely want to put them in the 9c as that is the carry piece. There is a long thread over at m4carbine.net and one over at mp-pistol.com.

Beware of drop in anything. Nothing is more tried and true then a skilled gunsmith working over your piece to make it smooth and crisp.
