Can't decide!
I was looking at my local gunshop today, and they have Springfield Loaded for $825, Found Kimber Custom II for $725, and Springfield Stainless Champion for $875.
I like the champion(And likely pick it up sometime, as I always wanted one), but thinking I want either Custom II or Loaded.
And I can't decide!
Now, I know that both are good guns(I had them both before), and they work.
They are both steel framed. Loaded is Parkarized, and Kimber has kimpro(I think?)
Loaded are NM serial. Both are tightly fitted. I think Kimber may have slight advantage over springfield on fit/finish.
Loaded comes with wood grip, and Kimber is Rubber grip
Loaded comes with night sight, ambisafety, Kimber comes with neither, but $100 cheaper.
Kimber is known for its extensive use of MIM parts(although I never had an issue with it before on any guns with MIM parts).
Loaded comes with Forged slide/frame/barrel, but not sure not sure if they use MIM inside
Regardless of which gun I get, I'll likely replace MSH with steel mag well unit(there for what grip panel it have has no bearing, as I'll replace it regardless), I'll replace long trigger with short trigger.
I'll have to dish out for night sight, and Ambi safety on Kimber.
They'll both be used for same purpose.
Bed side gun/range gun. And occassional carry.
So with that being said, what would you pick?

Re: Can't decide!
It is a tough decision. It is why I got a P220 because I wanted another 1911 and couldn't decide which. Too many good choices for $1000, or less. If there ever was a coin toss decision, this is it.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Go with the Loaded, I'm also not a huge kimber fan....

Re: Can't decide!
Get both!
I like the look of the Kimber more. If they both shoot good, get the better looking one.

SA all day... you spend more than the $100 difference on sight and ambi safety.

Re: Can't decide!
I couldn't talk you into a SIG1911 could I?
I kid. Personally, something about the Kimber has always called to me. Excellent fit and finish, awesome out of the box trigger... and their barrel's are one piece unlike the SA. My experience with Kimber has been very positive too.

Re: Can't decide!
As I have said a couple times of late, I'm on a 1911 tangent. I am reading just about everything I can get my hands on about them. MIM parts are very low on my list when considering a 1911, now (I used to be on the "F... MIM parts" bandwagon). Every 1911 I like (and fits my cheap ass budget) has some kind of MIM parts. I don't care; it makes me not have to spend $2000, or more for a nice 1911, and more importantly, they work and hold up just fine. If I break one, or rub it too many times on the cheese grater, it takes only minutes to put in a new one.
