When you join the NRA, you get $2500 worth of insurance.

Re: NRA Endorsed firearms insurance?
I asked my insurance agent about coverage for my firearms with my homeowner's policy and he said to go with the NRA. For the amount of coverage that I have, he couldn't match the price and for anything over the standard $2,000 that my homeowner's policy includes, I would have to give a detailed list of guns, serial number, accessories, etc..
I haven't needed my NRA insurance yet but I'll stick with it.

I got the same email and I think it said $2500 in coverage is free. Anyone know if that is with the nra membership or is it free for like a month?

Re: NRA Endorsed firearms insurance?
I have my guns insured through State Farm and am probably going to drop it for something else very shortly. First of all they require serials, which I hate. Second of all, they require an itemized list of all guns insured, which is a huge pain in the ass when you buy/sell/trade as often as I do. My list is probably 3 months out of date as I haven't gotten around to going into my agent's office to make changes, and it takes forever for the changes to actually take effect. I just looked at that Collectibles Insurance Services website and was quoted about half of what I pay through SF, so i'm going to look into that.

Has anyone ever had a claim with Collectibles?
Price wise it seems pretty cheap. $6.16 per $1000
I need to keep better track of my stuff. Find all my receipts. Update my list.
Should have pictures of everything too.

Re: NRA Endorsed firearms insurance?
I've tried contacting my Nationwide agent about getting a rider for firearms but he's ignoring me.
I'll look into Collectibles, but I too would be interested if anyone has actually filed a claim with then and how it worked out.

Re: NRA Endorsed firearms insurance?
Regarding Collectibles Insurance, one should note that they are an agent/broker - not an insurer.
My most recent policy with them (eff. 1/26/12) is underwritten by United National Specialty Insurance Company rated EXCELLENT by AM Best.IANAL
