How are the turkey numbers in the area I spent my summers fishing here as a kid and wanna go back

We used to fish there in the summer also. I don't know about the turkey population.

Turkey populations are growing but so are the Coyote populations as well. i go to my Buddys camp right below the dam area 5-6 times a year to fish and hunt.
