    Default Help! Can't re-assemble my Sig 228!

So I took it mostly apart to clean out the inside, and now I'm stuck. I'm trying to put the de-cocker back on, but when I go to function test it doesn't work.

There isn't a clear video on youtube and now I'm getting that "totally fucked" feeling.

Did you take a look at the "how to" at Sig specific forums?

Kudos to you. Never broke mine passed the pin fearing the same predicament. Let us know how it works out!

Turns out I just couldn't find that sweet spot when putting the hammer spring assembly back together.

Man, didn't realize the PITA Sigs are to disassemble.

Oh, here's the video I found that really helped. Quality is clear and bright.

If you have an iPhone, iPod or iPad., download a free app called Gun Disassembly 2. Shows step by step how to tear down and rebuild a 228. Great app.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

Never remove the grips of a SIG pistol, the innards are held in place by the grips, if you want to clean it just blow it out with some action cleaner.

...Not even true. Trust me, I just experienced the inside of a Sig for about 2 hours.

Where in the hell did you come up with this? Unless you're talking about the thumb safety on the SAO models?

I had the same thing happen to me back in the 90s when I bought mine. I wasn't as lucky to have the resources we do now, so I took my 220 and did a "stare-and-compare".
