I'm going to buy a Hi point
Maybe. I just want to get one to see what kind of abuse it can take. I know everyone talks a lot of shit about them but I've never looked at them or shot them. So I wanna get one, beat on it and tell everyone how it went. Anyone have any idea what the Hi point 9mm is going for anyways?

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
I just sold a brand new one on gunbroker and got $105 for it. Most shops have them for about $140 give or take ten bucks.

$160 from Bud's.
I've been kicking around the idea for a while myself. Just to have handy in the house when I'm too far away from my other weapon.
I've always said that ideally, I'd suggest saving up for something "better", but they are better than nothing and an affordable option when money is an issue.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
I had one of their nine millimeter "compacts". Put around 2000 rounds of dirty Wolf through it. It always went bang and the accuracy wasn't bad. Sold it for what I paid. Wish I kept it as a car gun.

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
Didn't someone start a thread where they put one in a litterbox, and shot it afterwards?

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
This video if accurate, is an incredible testiment to it's strength:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbvvurXmAmg
Starting around 7 min, they try to destroy a 9mm Hi point with a charge of Bullseye that is about a 100% overcharge, and it survives just fine. This same load is then fired with a 7.62mm Nagant pistol case pounded into the muzzle of the barrel with a brick, and it survives it just fine after firing. Anyone who reloads 9mm, has to cringe at the mere thought of touching off such a +++++++++++++++++P+++++++++++++ round, with the bore obstructed no less, yet it seems the Hi Point has no problem holding up. Absolutely AMAZING if the results are as portrayed.

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
Here it looks like they succeeded in destroying it; having it clamped shut, w/o mentioning the round used, or if fully obstructed:

Edit, later in the video it looks like a hex headed bolt is poking out of the muzzle, and perhaps where it ended, is where we see the barrel rupture.

Re: I'm going to buy a Hi point
Buy it!! They are made in Dayton Ohio by Americans!! And they do go BANG every time. Not the prettiest.....but if you need a gun, and you have a CCW, or have it in your home, you won't be unhappy it's there!!!
