Went to range with new spotting scope (Vortex Razor HD 20-60). What a freaking joy to see .22 holes in white paper @ 200 yards. My old Simmons couldn't make them out at 100 on most days. This scope really changed my range dynamic, no more shooting, walking, looking, shooting walking looking. Should've bought a good spotter years ago.

The 200 yard berm is to the right of the 50 and 100 yard sand pits on the left.

Took my SBR out to sight it in.
it shot tightn group at 25yd. But it was off to left quite bit. I must assume that my front sight base is canted.
I built it as CQB defense weapon, and it'll serve that role nicely tho. Not to mention I'm gonna mount optic here shortly.
My front sight base may have been canted or whatever, but boy, was it fun to shoot!

You can see my buddy Cole's Savage 10BA Stealth in 6.5Creedmore with x24 Scope, and I think he might be sold me to that, as I feel like I need to get me one of them...
These M92PAP SBR do shoot out flame like noone else's buinsness...

Didn't go shooting today, but I got to go yesterday. Photos of some of the rifles I got to shoot. The people there packed up and left when we arrived--I'm guessing they thought "Look at them ya-hoos", and left. The percussion from the brake on the AR10 was bad--I want to say it was almost unbearable. I could not stand near the shooter when trying to spot--I had to sit at least one table over and it was still bad. My favorite to shoot was the M27. The rear sight was bent went I got it, so it shoots a little to the left. Once I figured out where to aim, it was dead on. I'm always amazed when I shoot the MAS 49/56 as the recoil feels like a .223, but the round is comparable to a .308. I love shooting the old bolt actions--I just have a few newer rifles for practical purposes. I took more guns to the range, but these are the ones we shot.

Went shooting last Thursday. 49 degrees, overcast, occasional breeze 5-10 mph quartering from right rear but mostly calm, on the 100 yard range. I was trying out RelodeR 15 in my hand-loaded .22-250s. The rifle is a 27" x 1-1/8" custom barrel (1:14 RH twist) on an Arisaka 38 receiver, set into a Fajen stock. Trigger is a 1-1/2 pound Timney, scope is a Leupold straight 12 power with AO, all assembled in 1971.

Brass was weighed and grouped in fives, a total of 30 rounds, first five loaded with 39 grains of RelodeR 15, next five 39.2, next 39.4, next 39.6, next 39.8 and the last five 39.9 grains. Two sources had noted the 39.9 as accurate. Well, the first 25 rounds started out with a not great group but group nonetheless, and a few of the rest of the loads showed promise of improvement but the final five of the reportedly accurate load of 39.9 produced a group .248" by .345", the best it has ever done.

There's just one problem. The bullets were either 52 grain SMK or 53 grain SMK. I forgot to record which one I used. Each box of 100 contains 60, so that's no help.
I'm going to load 15 of 52 and 15 of 53 and see what happens. I know I cannot exceed 53 grains with this barrel, so suspect it was 52. Oh well, another excuse to reload and go shooting.

Wish I knew how to post photos.

Can we make it a normal thing to post what range you went to, so that perspective members have chance to put a name to a range. Mods what do you think?

February 26, 2017 on a private range on private property. My daughter, wife, and I were out for a little while shooting some .22lr at a Daisy reactive oozing watermelon target. I started off with the obligitive safety lesson (the fourth time she's been shooting with her P-22 and holster/ mag pouch/ belt setup so she's getting used to it), then moved to some precision shooting, and lastly some plinking fun at the reactive target to keep her interested despite her cold hands and fingers. We all had fun, the wife and I got some practice, and our daughter created some more memories.

It is indeed a great spotting scope....
