Gunblast did a decent review of them recently, which got me to buy one. I found this nickel coated one for $209 shipped. The fit and finish of the polymer is rather poor, but it ran with one hiccup while I was shooting it.

My friend shot it and immediately hung it up off the first shot of some cheap herter's low brass (shell was stuck). Quick bump of the butt stock and it ran fine after that. I'm not sure if the low brass swelled up in the chamber or it was him being to easy on the action. After that I told him to abuse the pump and the issue did not occur again. I'd like to get a few more boxes through it before calling it a decent shotty or not (for 209 bucks...)

Yeah, I read that article. That's why I was wondering. You're the first person I seen that actually owns one. I love good cheap guns. For simple reasons of economics right now and I love to be able to beat up on a gun and not worry about it. A Beretta shotgun would never leave my safe. I would fondle it and drool on it and clean it and put it back. A $210 shotgun....WHOOOOO HOOOOO!

So my summer project turned into a winter project...I bought this rifle on Gun Broker last summer. Mauser action in 30-06 with a 26" heavy barrel, Unertl scope bases, high polished blue finish and the wood had a very heavy high gloss lacquer finish typical style from when it was built in the 1960s.

I had the barrel cut down to 24" Had it drilled and tapped for Leupold base and had a 45% safety installed then had the whole rifle parkerized including the rings and base. refinished the wood myself in a hand rubbed linseed oil finish.I finally got around to mounting the scope on it this past weekend a Leupold 6x18x40

Getting back to "did you go shooting today" so with the sun and warm air on my face all day and my new scope on my rifle I took off early at work and headed to the range.

My main goal was to find a weight it liked(twist is unknown to me)I shot 130,150,165,168. It seemed to like the 168 Sierra Match King, now I can start different loads around that bullet. Target is 5 shots at 200yds (Zippo is for reference)

Then to finish off a great range trip I had a Drew Estate Cigar for the drive home

I had to leave work early to take my daughter to an appointment. On the way home from her dentist I mentioned that I just happened to have a case of clay birds and her 870 Wingmaster in the back of the truck and suggested we stop and break some.

I worked the clay thrower while she shot and vice versa. A great way to kill a half hour. Glad I packed the stuff before we left the house.

    Cold winter. Snowy winter.
I had a couple of projects that needed testing and evaluation, and yesterday, with it's 50+ temperatures, was ideal to do just that.
Three weeks ago, the snow at the local Shootin' Hole was mid-calf deep, but with the recent upswing in global warming I was able to make my way through what turned out to be a sea of mud.
    Black, oily, sticky mud.
Traipsing through this quagmire, I sprained the arch of my right foot, and am a little gimpy this morning, but I'll do it again next week when the weather warms back up.
