Went to the range yesterday to break in my NIB Shield 9mm (thanks to Ace Sporting Goods!)

Unfortunately, I had two light primer strikes, one with Winchester White Box 115FMJ, and one with Ranger-T 147gr. JHP. I may have to detail-strip the slide and see if there is any gunk in the striker channel.

Went out to the range today to test some reloads I made back in January. Today was the first day I considered warm enough for some nice rifle shooting. I decided to play around a bit so I took a rimfire scope off my 22 rifle and mounted it on my RRA LAR-15 and zero'd it in at 50 years. Here is the resulting 10 shot group. This was Hornady V-Max 55grain bullets over 24.7grains of H335 powder.



And here is the same target with a dime added for perspective of the group size.

What a beautiful Spring day to hit the range. My Wife and I took out a few handguns and had the pistol range to ourselves. One was my S&W CS45, I just like shooting this little gun. The other three were recent purchases we have not had out yet. They included a Ruger Redhawk in .357 magnum, S&W 28-2 in .357 magnum and a S&W 4506 .45ACP. I took 100 rnds of .45, 50 rnds of .38 spl and 50 rnds of .357.

Both it and the CS45 performed flawlessly today as well did the revolvers. My wife tried the .45's and didn't care for them much. So will I was playing with the .45's she started with the 28-2 and .38 spl's. She commented on how soft shooting the big S&W was. I suggested she try the Ruger, that big revolver was like shooting .22LR with the .38 Spl loads. Needless to say, no .38 for me today.

I managed to get a few cylinders through the revolvers with the magnums. I suggested she try the Redhawk out with the magnuns as it really was no worse than her J Frame with +P loads. Stupid suggestion... My revolver shooting was done as she expended the remaining ammo.

My drill for the day was 3 shot drills two to the chest and one to the head at 7 yards as fast as I could. I alternated between the two .45's and as mention, a few cylinders from the revolvers.

I took my 1938 Tula Mosin to the range today. It was nice to shoot without having your fingers go numb from the cold.

I went ham today! 200 rounds of 9mm, 50 rounds of .38 Super. and 200 rounds of .45 acp. Here was my best five round group from my Springfield Pro at 10 yards.

Well today was the first afternoon that I was off work and the wife worked so I packed my bag with my eyes n ears, 100 rounds of 40s&w, 100 rounds of 9mm targets, my hp 40 and strapped on my Taurus 9mm n headed to shooters delight in chambersburg. I pulled in about 12:45 n it wasn't open so I figured maybe he's out to lunch. So I waited as well as another guy n his little boy. Well needless to say almost 2 hours later I finally gave up n went to pick up lunch n went to my wife's work. Man I need to get the money together n drop off my application for waynesboro bad so I can shoot anytime!!
