We’ve got one of those similar thickness targets on our rifle range. Mainly because it’s idiot proof. It doesn’t ring as loud as some of the others but you don’t have to worry about someone putting a hole in it.

The target itself is massively heavy, took 3 of us to assemble the target and really needed a 4th person.

Ok, Flickr finally loaded some pics.

What a difference a grain or even a half grain of powder makes.

here were a couple of the 5 yard targets. These always make me start to feel good but yes, that is what I should expect.

someone left me quite a few 10mm cases which are tumbling now. I had about 200 Starline and probably 100 Underwoods from some hardcast I ordered a while back.

Next trip will be back to rifles.

I have to zero my Spanish FR8 at 30 meters using the 200 peep.

I have a National Ordnance 1903A3. The 45 year old Bushnell shit the bed and I put another old Simmons on it.

The 7X57 1916 mauser load still needs help.

I wanted to chrono those loads too.
The Nosler reload manual usually lists the most accurate load and quite often, its not the max load.

    Edit to add.
I found out as I was resizing the Blazer 10mm brass that these use small pistol primers instead of the normal large pistol.primers.
I heard some 45ACP( which I dont reload) also have different size primers.

Yesterday, Sighted in a couple ARs after installing a scope and a red dot.

The boolit catcher box needed the front replaced again so I could staple targets, so I did that Monday.

The trip to the back porch was grueling, but I was able to set up the sandbag on the table and carry the guns down with only 3 breaks to rest. /sarc

I was able to get the holes as close to the point of aim as I am normally capable of, with just a few rounds.

I am delighted with the holosun HS 403GL. It is shake awake and stays on for a programmable number of hours.
That rifle / sight combo appears to be a tack driver.

Yes on the .45 using both. I forget who uses which but it is brand specific.

First day back at Greater Pitt Gun Club.

I'm impressed with the 11 pistol bays available. They range in distance from 15 yards ( this was an original from 10 or 12 years ago) up to 70 yards ( Pistol).

The 417 yard rifle range has a completely new concrete pad and roof. Its designed to shoot under the low front roof ( probably because the new toll road ( 576) is beyond ).

The target berms are every 50 yards out to 400. I didn't count the benches but id say probably 8.

I'm not a shotgunner but it looks like all the shooting areas are clean and readily accessible.

The clubhouse has been redone and looks great inside and out.

Gate card required to enter and sign in upon arrival indicating what you are shooting.

I should have taken more pictures and will when I get back out.

it was 25 min from my driveway. The toll was $2.60 on 576. It was 35 min back the old way ( no tolls).

6 traffic lights to the club. Pmsc travel is a BUNCH more and usually 55 min. or better.

Looks like a good move to join. Even though its more costly @ $200 / year. I'm thinking the offset in gas will even out or put me ahead.

I did take a handgun (Glock 23) and shot it from 15 to 45 yards. I wasnt terribly impressed with myself at 45 yards ( 10" or so group) but Im thinking I'm still rusty and will use that excuse from here on out.

Made up a half a box of 380 with Ducati Ron's coated round nose bullets. My kahr 380 wasn't feeding the last box of hollow points I tried. It loves round nose. The shield 380 ez is just great and eats everything.

Now to make up plenty of practice ammo.

Prepping for a range day tomorrow.

I'm taking some old rifles for "old rifle day"

Now, I'm torn given the Russia / Ukraine conflict as to whether I should hold off taking my Russian SKS and Wolf ammo or a Chinese SKS with Chinese ammo.

Along with that SKS, I'm taking the Chinese AK, the Spanish FR8, the old parts gun National Ordnance 1903A3, and A Spanish Oviedo 7mm Mauser.

I'm sighting in the AK, SKS and 03A3.

The FR8 gets sighted using the 200 yard peep at 30 meters. Then I'll see where it hits ( If I can even see at 100).
The SKS and AK at 25 yards using the 200 yard elevation. Then fine tune at 100.

The 03A3 had an old Bushnell 3X9 with a bullet drop compensator. The reticle broke after 45 years ( bushnell didn't fix or replace it as it was out of warranty )
I repurposed another old 3X9 Simmons onto the 03A3 since that became one of my old mans rifle doe season guns ( shot a doe with it 2 years back).

The 7mm 1916 Mauser dated 1924 is also junk but it was my first deer rifle and cost me $24 at Springfield Sporters. I'd like to shoot a deer with it in 2024 (100 year anniversary).

I'm loading some FN69 cases (pulled bullets and necksized) with a charge of 54.5 gr of A4350 which should get me into the 2750 range.

Only downside so far is Greater Pitt doesnt have the 25 / 50 rifle range ready yet so I can place a table at 30 meters if I'm the only shooter and turn on the strobe for being downrange..

    Weather should cooperate.

    Pics when it happens.

OK, I went out to GPGC and my gate pass didn't work. I called Bill and he gave me an access code to get in. Cool 3 minutes.
I went to the 400 yard rifle range and sighted my Spanish FR8 in at the 30 meters it was supposed to be done at.
