I made this... (23 of the 250 outside of the splash target - 9.2% "misses," still better than the 5-0!)

    With these...

60 rounds through the 22. 90 rounds through the 23. 100 rounds through the 27. And I actually had two FTFs on the 27 using the 23 magazines with the +1 base. Odd. No issues with the 22 mags in the 27.

Met my friend at the range for some trigger time and to sling some arrows down range.

I think you're done for the day.

    Nice shooting.

Went to the public range in Laughlintown today. Shot the M96 Swede, PU Sniper, one round from the M39 (I have to change the firing pin spring--light strikes), and a few rounds from the 49/56.

Went back to the local range with my dad and friend. My dad wanted to sight his new ruger American 7mm-08 in and to zero his blr. The American shot really nice, was able to stack 3 rounds at 100 yards fairly easy. The BLR is disappointing, its a gorgeous gun, but the accuracy doesn't come close to the ruger. I brought an older marlin 39, and 1894c. Was able to hit an 8" gong with my 1894c with peep using 38s, was able to go 5/5 once I got the elevatiom figured out for the drop. Then we went back to the plinking range and started blasting at some broken clays in the dirt with the 22s. Also brought out my STI 1911 and sig 1911-22 and my wife's Walter ppx. Overall, was a beautiful day and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, no pics, we were too busy having fun shooting.

The boys were practicing for this weekend youth .22 competition at Archbald range. Love having a backyard range.

Oldest uses a very old J.C. Higgins single shot that requires you to prime the firing pin each round. Youngest is using the Marlin XT-22 he won at last year's shoot.

Oh, and both are 10 rounds at 50'.

No pictures, but took my son to his first "real" gun range this weekend. Meaning, not a Boy Scout BB range. He'll soon be shooting a .22.

He just did archery and shot with my EDC for some practice. I gave him an education on pistols, ammunition and of course a lot of safety. He also helped me clean up the brass on the range, we found a ton that wasn't mine. Well, it is now.

I am drilling the vocabulary into his heard so he doesn't sound like a moron or member of the media when he talks about firearms:

*Casings, not shells (showed him some shotgun shell casings we found on the ground)
    *Magazines, not clips.
*Hollow points vs. FMJ, with a demo on what a HP can do.

Was a great time, we spend a few hours there...a milestone for both him and me, even if he didn't pull a trigger. He's great with a Red Ryder and archery. We had some archery competition and although I won, he did great and improves every time he shoots.

    Yes. Some 5.56, some .45 & some 9mm.

200 rounds of that brass is 9mm from glocknurse. He was shooting steel cased 5.56 in his AR so that's not in the bag.
