Default Warranty Claim on an SR9c defective from factory (10 days old)?

Purchased from Elite Firearms in Hermitage. Plan on showing it to Chris who I purchased from. Likely cosmetic upon inspection but still want someone to take a look at it as I don't want to be having to address this 1 or 2 years into ownership. Most definitively came from Ruger this way, difficult to see but obvious when oiling. Any suggestions how to proceed? I already emailed Ruger for guidance.

If it is a crack, then it needs to go back to someone. It is hard to see in either picture.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Again, this is kind of like a hammer with a scratch on it. If the manufacturer can tell me that this will have zero impact (present/future) on the safety/functionality of the firearm, I'm good to go

Ah yes, it is clearer, now. It actually looks like a casting or molding mark, because it seems to go part of the way over to the other side of the back of the frame. If in fact, it is a molding mark, then it shouldn't be an issue. I had a few of them on some 24/7 Pro's I own, but I filed them away and touched them up with Krylon. I would have it looked at, though, just to be sure. Pictures can hide things, even if they are pretty clear.

Look at another one or two if there are some there and see if they have anything like what is on yours.

Would not hurt at all to have a smith or the factory have a look at it. If it was metal you could have it Mag-particle inspected. I would look into x-ray inspection. I have done material testing in my work career and those are two of the most-popular and effective non-destructive inspection processes.

You can't really tell by the photo. But Ruger has a unwritten near life time warranty of there product. if you didn't purposely harm the gun ther will fix it for you. I have a SRC9 it will fire with the magazine out of it, thats a flaw but one that I can live with knowing that & reacting to it.

    Send it to Ruger!
