Re: smith 329 pd
I don't have a 329, but .44 Magnum recoil is stout in revolvers that weigh more than twice as much. It's going to be "snappy."

It will thump you bad, like getting hit in the hand with a baseball bat. Especially with the grips that expose the backstrap. I highly recommend after-market grips that puts rubber between your hand and the backstrap.

It is a lousy gun, and you should take it right back to Rich and sell it back to him so I can buy it.
Am I right? I was lusting after a 329PD in the case there at his place a few days ago, and he told me someone else was thinking about it. I have it's little brother, a 386 PD. Easy to carry, not a lot of fun for extended shooting, and I suspect that the 329 will be more so. Good luck with it.

Re: smith 329 pd
It has a quick, snappy recoil that is not brutal, but you can feel it. It is somewhat controllable if you have to rapid fire it, but fanning this one is out of the question, unless your target is a school bus and it is two yards in front of you. It is very comparable to the Taurus Tracker with a 4" barrel; a gun that is loads of fun to shoot and very well built.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
