    Default 2010 colt 1991a1 nrm

I was offered a 2010 Colt 1991a1 nrm for 800 bucks from a friend and was wondering if I made a good deal? It is unfired and has never been taken out of the box. I will be transferring it Monday and just thought I would check here first.

That's about right, if it is unfired. I bought my 1991 NIB in 2/2011 for $759+tax from Ace sporting goods in Washington PA. It's a fair price. Very good pistol. Enjoy!

You're not getting steamrolled, but it is all the money for that gun, even unfired.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Let us know how you like it when you go to the range. Pics would also be nice. Enjoy!

Congratulations! It's a great 1911 and if you have any questions feel free to ask. That model was the first Colt I bought.

    First, if it's a 2010 pistol it can't be a 1991A1, because (a) the 2010 models were just 1991, and (b) there was never a 1991A1 series.

Second, $800 is dang near full MSRP. I think you could buy a brand new one from a gun shop for less. Your friend isn't exactly robbing you blind, but he's not offering you any "deal."

Actually, according to colt the msrp on a 2012 01991 Blue is $901 (I can't believe thay went up that much?) And if his buddy never fired the gun, it is practically NIB anyway and he won't have to pay sales tax on it. I got mine 11 months ago for $759+tax NIB which put it at $814 or something. I totally agree with you in the fact that he's not getting ripped off but I wouldn't be doing a back flip about the price either!

Yes, but the gun in question is not a new 2012 pistol, it's a pre-owned 2010 pistol. The MSRP at the time was around $830, IIRC.
