Scotia Range
Has anyone been to the range at Scotia? Whats the road like? I'd like to go but with the ice I'm not sure.

Re: Scotia Range
I go to Scotia once a week. Usually Wed. around noon. The road isn't to bad, definately passable. I do have a 4wd, but I have been back with a fwd car within the past couple weeks. Just use caution.

Re: Scotia Range
I was there on Friday afternoon. The road wasn't plowed, but the range was open and a couple of young hacks with a Glock made it in & out in their Chrysler minivan.
Fucking amateurs... they didn't sign in, were on the sheltered pistol range shooting into the dirt and not using backboards- their targets were taped & hanging from the metal frames. The one guy couldn't hit shit; not sure about the other.Last edited by RandomTask; February 3rd, 2008 at 10:22 PM.

Re: Scotia Range
i was just there today.
Roads are icy, but not too bad(as long as you drive normaly).
Range aren't too bad either.
I think pistol range had all most all frame up
50yrds range was missing few
100yrds were all good.
If your gonna do 100yrds shooting, bring boots.
paddle there is pretty deep(and my shoes are soaked...)Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: Scotia Range
Good to know it's sloppy out there, not that I expected anything else. Going to try to make it out tuesday afternoon.

Re: Scotia Range
I was out there this afternoon (ran into Mity2 by sheer coincidence). My '93 Accord took quite a beating from the road (lots of deep holes and ruts). The pistol range is manageable in tennis shoes, but like Mity2 said, the 50/100 ranges were swamps.

Re: Scotia Range
yes road there was quite bad. My explore felt like it was about to become pieces in some spot.
sad part of it is that thats with snow and ice covering up some of nasty pot holes...
Its REALLY bad when the road is dry.
lexigton, it was pleasure meeting you(eventho your shooting with M&P puts me to shame...).
Hope we can all get together for another group shoot soon here!Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: Scotia Range
I was out to Scotia today around 12:00 with Ford diesel Steve. The road SUCKS!! It is very icy. It is still passable if you use caution. The rifle range looks like a big lake and the pistol range had about 3 inches of water right in front of the target stands. We still had fun though. Any day at the range is still better than a good day at work. Until next time, Happy Shooting.
