Palmyra Sportsman's Membership Info?
Hi,
I was hoping that someone could provide me with membership info for Palmyra Sportsman Association. According to their website it looks like a nice facility, however I couldn't find any information on how to become a member. Feedback from anyone who's been there would also be welcome. Thanks.

Took me a little while to find it too when I was joining up.
If you go to the website and click on the link for the quarterly newsletter you will find the membership application at the very bottom.
Here is a direct link to the newsletter:

I was never a member but have shot trap there a number of times. Always a nice crowd and good sportsmanship.
Also, since you're in Hummelstown, there is also Middletown Hunter's and Anglers club. Nice facilities also.

Thanks for the info. I saw the link for the newsletter, however I couldn't open it on my tv. Now I see it. Do you need need a sponsor to join?

No sponsor needed. Just send in the application and you will be voted on during the next club meeting (which you are welcome to attend). They simply name all the applicants for the previous month and vote yes/no.
Simple process. You will likely get your membership card before hand (which allows you access into the facilities). Pretty much just a formality.

Re: Palmyra Sportsman's Membership Info?
I've been at both Palmyra and the Middletown ranges. Both very nice places. I can't say if Middletown has an indoor range but Palmyra does and it allows 24hr access. However if you like to shoot in the evenings after work I highly suggest you check the range schedule ahead of time. They run indoor practices many nights from 6 to 9 on both the pistol and 22 ranges. A friend and I found this out the hard way. They do a good job publishing the schedules but we/I didn't think to look.

Re: Palmyra Sportsman's Membership Info?
Does their membership start on a specific month or begin the month you apply? Just wondering, since in the past I joined a range and paid a years dues to get a 3 month membership?
And is their a way to get a tour before joining. I'm thinking of joining here or the Middletown Anglers, but I think they limit the indoor range to 22 pistols.

I believe they are now doing the membership 12 months based on the month you joined.

I've been a member for quite some time and I love the PSA. The membership is based on the month that you join.
PSA's indoor ranges are not limited to .22. There is an indoor range dedicated to air/.22, but there is also an indoor range for larger caliber handguns. If you know any current members they can take you on a tour. If you don't know any, please send me a PM.

Re: Palmyra Sportsman's Membership Info?
I was a member for many years and thought the membership year started in October no matter when you joined.
I let my membership lapse a few years ago, (nothing against PSA, it's a great facility, money was just a bit too tight to keep up all of my memberships and that was the most expensive).
Things may have changed or maybe I had a misconception because I joined at one of their Open House event's (second or third weekend in October) and they always offered membership renewals at the Open House events.
Either way, it's a very nice facility and I don't have anything bad to say about it.
I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.
