Lancaster family martial arts center on Hempland Rd in Mountville. The web site is lfmac.com It looks like something I'd like to try.
I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six!

Re: Krav Maga
As forceinpa stated The Lebanon Isshinryu School is a great school and is also only one of two schools in Pa (the other one is in pittsburg) certified to teach Krav Maga by Krav Maga World wide. I would highly recommend this school, both Sensei John and Sensi Bill are amazing instructors.

Re: Krav Maga
Don't get wrapped up in what style of martial arts you want to take. Watch a class or two and get a feel for the gym. Are the student's attitudes in check? Does it seem like everyone is in fantasy land? Do they make contact? Regularly?
90% of gyms are McDojo's that offer whatever the flavor of the week is and they are just as bad now that they teach "MMA" & "Krav" as they were when they taught "taekwondo" or as they were when they taught "karate" when those were popular.
In general, don't trust any place that has:
-contracts
-odd fees for things like belt tests
-7yo's running around with black belts
-people who are deluded into thinking they are killing machines
-no sparring
-not a single heavy bag or jumprope in sight.Last edited by vicious; March 6th, 2012 at 02:05 PM.

Re: Krav Maga
I thought about taking this up as well, but I'm still wrestling with the idea. Still grappling with my schedule to see how much time I can get my hands around.
