Need help understanding how to Sell my ammo collection
Hello,
I am preparing to unload my ammo collection. But I don't really know what I have. All of it was in my Dad's collection. I am just looking for some suggestions and to see if anything really jumps out as collectible. I appreciate your help!

Re: Need help understanding how to Sell my ammo collection
Wow, that's quite a collection, the 38-40 Win could go for around $30 (or more) these days, price on the boxes you have $8. Hell of an increase over the years. I love the box too, says "High Speed".
I would just put each caliber into a Google search box the get a today's value figure and go from there.
Here's an ammo search engine: http://ammoseek.com/

Nice collection, the only concern I have and what other will have is that looks like some dated stuff and although still valuable many will wonder how this ammo was stored...some of the boxes look aged but still in great shape
How was this ammo stored?

The ammo was stored in this cabinet, bottom drawers.

The big hitters are the Remington 5mm Rimfire magnums.
Last I saw them for was over $80.00 per box. Seems as though the new production stuff has had little effect on the Remington ammo.

Re: Need help understanding how to Sell my ammo collection
could also take some photos to the upcoming Oakes show, there are a lot of people who sell just vintage ammo etc that could provide some insight..
Storage doesnt look bad, being that it wasnt in like an unfinished basement etc..
Like I said nice collection, I wouldnt mind a box of that old Remington .45 just to have for some novelty
Definitely have some money sitting there, its good that you're going to take the time and get a fair price!

Re: Need help understanding how to Sell my ammo collection
Thanks for all of the input. I spent some quality time researching the various ammo. It is interesting to see what ammo is listed for on the auction sites. Unfortunately most if not all of it does not receive bids.
So I think the best approach is to split up the collection in two lots. #1 contains all of the 22 and #2 contains everything else. The again Lot #2 could be split up into "Common" ammo & "Special" ammo. Special means ammo like the 5MM.
Oh well, I will figure it out tomorrow!
