Re: RAI 1911 used price check?
Sounds good to me. I'm getting a RIA Tactical this weekend for $360, so $300 for a GI is on same line. I say go for it.

Re: RAI 1911 used price check?
They go for about $420-$440 new, so $299 seems decent if it's in good shape. You won't be disappointed, RIA's are incredible and best bang for your buck by a longshot for a 1911. I own two currently and have never had a problem.
Good luck, and as I'm sure you know, it's not about "need" it's always about "want"

You trying to own all the same guns as me or something?
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

Re: RAI 1911 used price check?
These guns are floating around out there for $400, NIB. That is $101 more than the dude wants for his, and you say (seems like you say) it it used and looks it. If you do not need this pistol, but merely want it, then spend the xtra C-note for a new one. A reliable 1911 always makes a good HDW, so it isn't as if you don't need it. You can look at it as a booster to protecting your home at a great price, but if you are on a budget, be sure you don't want or need something else, more.
If you already have a few guns, your wife will tend to do what a lot of them do, unless she likes guns as much as you do, and that is this > They don't like fitting something unnecessary into a tight budget. If you feel you need it for more protection and can afford it, then button your pants and get it, but I would rather spend the extra skin on a new one.
If you don't need the gun and you are not on a tight budget, then begging works pretty good once you wear her down. Got first hand experience, here.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
