How do you know which generation Glock you have?

from what i know gen 3's had the finger grooves in the grip, and gen 4's have interchangeable backstraps and ambi mag release. as for gen 1's and 2's i think they just changed the angle of the grip.

Gen 1-no finger grooves,no ass. rail
Gen 2-no finger grooves,ass. rail
Gen 3-finger grooves,ass. rail
Gen 4-finger grooves,ass. rail,removable back strap

Gen 1, only the G17 and G17L were made along with a few cut down into prototype G19's. They only have 2 pins, not 3.
Any other glock without finger groves in a gen 2
With finger grooves but no rail is a Gen 2.5.
