SHould I wait to get denied by Phila before filing for FL, VA, AZ?

It has been 2 weeks since I applied for my PA LTCF here in Philly and I am just going to assume that they will deny my application based on their reputation. I was planning on getting my FL, VA, and AZ permits anyway, but was wondering it it would be better to hold off on submitting the applications to prevent anything that might cause Philly to deny me just in case they were decided to issue me my license.

Do you think I should wait until I get a denial letter from them or just say the hell with it and submit my non-resident permit applications anyway to start the ball rolling?

no point in waiting, i know plenty of people in philly that have non-res license/permits and carry on them because of all they have to go through in philly

Had 2 DWI's in NJ a long time ago, last one 7 or 8 years ago. NJ law back then is extremely different than what PA is now, so they were considered moving violations and not criminal offenses. There were 10 years between each occurrence, so the second offense was treat as a first offense. Besides, it's they Socialist Republic of Philadelphia...that's what they do.

I forget, does the FL application ask if you've ever been denied a carry permit/license?

My advice would be to go ahead and apply to FL because their license is recognized by many other states and is good for cross-country travel, so you should have one anyway.

I have heard though that Philly has revoked some people's LTCF once they found out they applied for a non-resident permit in other states. I just don't want to screw up anything just in case they actually did decide to issue a PA LTCF to me. I would prefer to have a PA LTCF so that way I don't have to worry about the gun free school zone stuff in the event that I ever get stopped and some Philly jackboot wants to call over his buddy in the BATF from down in Old City to get a few kicks in on some defenseless handcuffed guy.

Just another permit that covers basically the same states as FL and AZ just in case reciprocity is pulled by one of the others for what ever reason. It doesn't give you any more states, just a backup.

This was my first thought as well - Don't wait to potentially get denied, b/c that might mess up certain future non-resident applications (NH does ask about prior denials, IIRC, when I got mine. I do not recall if the AZ application asked when I got that one, but Goon would probably know).

Just apply for what you want *before* PPD gets the chance to deny you.

At least, that's what I would do...
