Default Assistance for a returning hunter

I was born and raised in Pa. many, too many years ago and then had to move to NJ where I now live. I have obtained my Pa. non resident license and wish to once more hunt in a more congenial environment. My favorite hunting is groundhogs, woodchucks, and I need to know where in the southeast part of the state there are state gamelands where I might have open fields to take some longish shots. I hunted for many years game lands number 205 near Schnekesville but have not been there in 30 years or so. That was pretty good then. Is it still good now? Any help you can offer will be appreciated.

My "local" favorite is the Blue Marsh SGL north of Reading. There you can find deer, small game and groundhogs. Opening day it might be nuts until 10 AM but it is a great place.

    Best regards,

As Hornady said, go to the PA Game Commission web site. If you follow the gamelands link they have topo maps for many of the gamelands that can be viewed and downloaded.
