Default Tea Party Leader Arrested in NY with in-transit Firearm

Tea Party Patriots leader arrested in La Guardia airport after declaring his firearm to Delta despite it being in a locked box. Not sure of all the details (like was he staying in NY or just traveling through) Here is the link to the NY Times article. Good impetus for a national carry provision for those with a legal right to carry in their home state (in this instance California)

i just read the article. this is such bullshit. that dude was in transit and federal law allows you to move your guns as long as you do it the right way. i bet the prosecutor knows about this but is just throwing shit around cause he can get away with it. anyways i think this guy will not go to jail. i think he should sue NY for this bull. tyranny at its finest.

I'm guessing that his problem will be his "several day stay" in the Empire State before he headed to the airport.

The fact that he didn't keep the ammo and gun separate too. Case law is cited in the other thread.

This seems to be happening alot, where the same story is posted in several forums. I wish they'd bring back the news section...I found that to be one of the more interesting areas on this site.

this is WHY the news forum is closed, cuz lazy posters would post the same dang story in 5 different forums, and post crap that wasn't remotely "News" in the news section.
