Default PA resident buying ammo in NJ

Does anyone know if I can buy ammo in NJ without a NJ Firearms ID.

I'm asking because my office is really close to the AmmoMan and I was going to pick up ammo on my lunch.

    Thanks.

As a DE resident I was told I cannot pick up the ammo I buy in NJ. But I could order it on the phone and they would ship it to me... for free, since my order amount met their free-shipping requirements. Worked out for me. NJ is weird, for sure.

I think that's because even carrying ammo in NJ without a special license is a crime.....I read that somewhere just now but could not tell if it was a pending bill, or a passed bill so I didn't repost.

Besides, if you ordered hollow-points you wouldn't want to pick that up anyway. (NJ = ) Best to just have them ship it.

When I lived in NJ I had hollow-points at home. Legally, I could buy them and take them directly home. However, it's much more complex when you are a non-resident trying to buy ammo in NJ... there probably is a law against non-residents buying ammo in-person.

Directly home? Do they, like, send the police to the nearest McDonalds to make sure you don't stop in the drive-thru for a Coke and some fries? haha.

Glad I don't live there. We came close, at one point, years ago. Phew.

Unthinkingly, I moved there in the early '70s for a job I wanted. It took me over 25 years to finally be able to escape... to DE.

As for watching McDonalds... the cops used to watch the NJ liquor stores on Rt 73 for cars with PA plates buying liquor or cigarettes in NJ and trying to take it back over the Tacony-Palmyra bridge into PA.

As for the cops watching the ammo stores? I wouldn't put it past them! LOL.

AFAIK, you only need a NJFID to buy pistol ammo, and yes that includes .22LR. Total bullshit. Why give the PRNJ any money, when you can buy it w/o hassle in PA or DE? I live in this excuse for a social experiment, and I will take great pains to buy my ammo out of state.
