    Default What vest for IDPA/USPSA??

What vest or ?? do you guys use for IDPA/USPSA shooting competitions? Thats about the last thing I need to get to be ready and curious what you guys prefer/like. Links would be good too.

Am I right that what ever it is must completely cover the gun?

I've been shooting IDPA in whatever shirt I wear that day. No special attire. I don't tuck so most of my shirts cover my firearm.

I prefer to wear a bullet proof vest when i venture to a IDPA match for my own saftey....

In all seriousness when i use to actually shoot them for score, i would wear a button up shirt and leave it open. Lots of guys will sew stiff material on the inside of the shirt/vest to aid in drawing and reloading. Actual idpa vests will already have this done to them. Also consider wearing pants that have very large front pockets for tactical reloads.

USPSA matches require no silly attire just lots of magazines and ammunition.

Check out the Columbia Silver Ridge vest. It's got good, functional pockets, it's not heavy or bulky like a tactical vest, it's a lot cooler in the summer, and it looks good. When I went shopping for an IDPA vest last year, this was the best one I found.

Half off right now at lapolicegear.com if you can wear a size L.

Since you're from Lewistown, stop in at Peffer's Army/Navy on S Main St. Deb is a competitor, and stocks vests, holsters, and mag carriers. She can also answer questions you may have about local clubs and competitions.

Are you going to shoot at the Lewistown Pistol Club? I shot my first few matches there. It's a great place to shoot.

On topic, I use a Dickies work shirt that I keep unbuttoned.
