    Default Beretta 92FS

First post. Just picked up a Beretta 92FS, made in USA version for $310. I replaced plastic stock grips with Hogue monogrip w/fingergrooves. My question is, does anyone know production year with ser# BER2591xx Z ? Opinions are also welcome, good or bad. Thank you.

try this web site, it covers several different year groupings. If its not in the first one, it will prompt you for another grouping.

Nice pick up by the way on a great gun. Enjoy and thanks for sharing

Then this, if the S/N is out of range:

Dang, this is scary; same link and almost same reply at the same time!

Great gun! Love mine, I have the "made in Italy" version of the 92FS in stainless, and carry it whenever I am able. Comfortable gun to carry and easy to shoot too. Lots of luck on the new addition!

    Congrats!

Deffinately love mine too. FYI, installing a "D" hammer spring from a DAO model is a quick mod that noticeably improves trigger pull.

"X is what percentage of Y?" Divide the first number by the second, multiply the answer by 100. Add a percent sign. Think.

Thanks to all for the replies. The DA trigger pull is long if not half-cocked, but tolerable either way. This is mostly a range-toy, so it is mainly used in SA mode. Aside from the three factory 15rnd mags I won on auction and another on the way, I think I'm done on anything further for it. Luckily it fits the leather de santis holster for my Sig P220, although it does poke out the bottom a little.

Like any used auto pistol, I'd strongly suggest at least adding a fresh recoil spring, and if you want to dig a bit deeper, a new trigger return spring... This trigger return spring is what I and others find less durable than needed, and if you have (should) a steel trigger, can add a Wolff unit:

I never did install this unit in my M9, rather used Wolff std conventional springs after the OEM one busted very shortly after buying new.
