S&W M&P 22 – so nice.
Well my S&W M&P 22 came in yesterday. My first impressions of the gun were very good. The gun in general seemed pretty well made. The fit and finish was M&P quality. It felt good in my hand just as the M&P 9 does. My only gripe with the gun is the thumb safety; I’d rather not have it but that's the way it comes. The thumb safety is kind of cheesy and feels cheap to me. But like I said, I won’t be using it so it doesn’t bother me.
I'll leave the detailed reviews to those on YouTube.
I did get a chance to take it to the range today and figured I’d give you all a quick recap as to the day’s events. I fired 300 rounds, without a hiccup! I did not clean the gun prior to the trip so it's as it came from the factory.
Federal Bulk Box (Wal*Mart) 36gr – 270 rounds.
Winchester Super X Subsonic Lead 40gr – 30 rounds.
I was expecting the subsonic rounds to possibly result in some sort of failure, but they didn’t.
The slide locked back on every empty magazine, the gun cycled fine no matter if the mag was filled to capacity, capacity + 1, or even down loaded.
The accuracy was pretty good, I was shooting at 10 yards, free hand, and it was quite cold. The gun shoots a lot better than I can.
This gun has quickly taken over as my favorite range weapon. I can easily see some savings in my future. Instead of shooting 150 rounds from the M&P 9 each outing I can see myself cutting that back to 25 rounds with 125 coming from the M&P 22. Perfect training aid for me.
Here are a few pics … I highly suggest this gun.
Ps – Only down side is the fact it comes with one mag, and they are impossible to find right now! 12 rounds goes really fast!

Re: S&W M&P 22 – so nice.
I picked mine up at Trop on Christmas Eve and I am loving it too. The fact that it only comes with 1 mag was almost a 'no deal' for me but glad I got over it and decided to buy it anyway. I am hoping to train with this and my M&P 9 pro and pair them up for some steel challenge shoots soon.

What did you pay for it at trop if you do not mind me asking? My local guys got it for me for 393 dollars out the door.

Awesome! We just picked up a used Sig Mosquito .22 today to use for target practice and to start training the kids on.
Going to try it out in the morning! Hopefully it won't jam up like some reviews online have said.

I love mine, it is a great way to plink without using all my 9mm.

Very nice, I would love to see Smith and Wesson offer a drop in .22LR barrel for my 9.
Sanity, yours if you can keep it.....

Any word on them offering threaded barrels for these, like with their other M&Ps?
