Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
Happy New Year PAFOA Philadelphians,
I'm looking to expand the states I can carry in, and would like to take the course in the city. I've got a couple friends who will likely join me. Anyone have suggestions on where I should do the training?
I know Bruce Eimer does training at SPAG, but I'm not sure of what other local options are. I'm hoping you all might have some preferences and experiences to share.
TIA,

Re: Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
You might consider getting an AZ permit:
You can get Arizona for $60 for 5 years, renewals for $43 with lots of reciprocity.
Email them and ask for an application packet. Or call them: 602-256-6280 or 800-256-6280.
Non-residents can have training from anywhere...as long as it is approved by AZ.
Here is the AZ revised statute, which includes training requirements and what they will accept.
Permits have been being issued usually within 4-6 weeks to qualified PA residents.

Re: Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
Thanks Goon,
That was quick. Thanks. Looks like AZ would be easier, but doesn't have reciprocity with Washington State. Washington is a place I'm interested in carrying. AZ might be a good start though.

If you are going to frequent WA...you could get a WA permit on your next visit.

Re: Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
Yup.. I got a WA CPL when I was out there over a year ago. Actually, I applied for it there and they mailed it to me in about 2 weeks. They take prints there, but no photo is required. Pretty easy to get
Now my problem is in about 4 years when it's time to renew, if I can get an agency out there to renew it by mail, as I probably will never be back in WA. I got the CPL as a backup carry license, mainly for the reciprocity with OH.

Re: Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
Thanks mrjam2jab, soberbyker. I was beginning to wonder if I'd just have to leap blind.
Any idea what the rub was? I'm having trouble finding any feedback on his actual courses, just this one, which seems suspicious, and this one, which is slightly positive. There's a MontCo sheriff thread that seems actively hostile, but not related to actual training.
Looks like his pricing is $300 for a joint FL/UT course. Is that high? Low? I don't know what other FL/UT courses go for.

Re: Utah/Florida license class in Philly?
Update: Found a thread almost exactly a year old.
http://forum.pafoa.org/training-tact...mit-class.html
Looks like its pretty dry and sticks to just the regs of the license. I'm open to other options.
