    Default delay in rifle purchase

Last week I went in to a gun dealer in Hamlin PA to purchase a new rifle which I was trading in an older model. The store ran a pics check and came back and said it may take 14 days as state police have to research. Yet, 30 hours earlier, little over a day, I purchased 2 hand guns in Hawley PA which was approved. So why the delay now? I have no criminal record.

I heard this only happens to people who make duplicate posts. http://forum.pafoa.org/general-2/158...-purchase.html

I asked a question and you came back with a very disturbing quote from someone.

Actually, that quote has nothing to do with you, it's part of his signature line, in other words it's on all of his posts. What he was really referring to is you started two threads about the exact same topic.

That said, once I was put into research after having had bought guns before. Sometimes it's random, sometimes there is something wrong with the system, sometimes it may be because you have a name similar to someone who is prohibited. If you turn out to be truly denied you'll find out what it was, if you're approved they never tell why the delay happened.

If you have clean criminal record, you most likely were flagged for purchasing multiple firearms within a short period of time. This occurs from time to time and shouldn't be an issue so long as you follow up on the reason you were put into research.

Should get more answers in the general forum, but I'll leave this linked for a while.
