LCR, Bodyguard or a Airweight 642

My EDC is a LCP, I love it that I can just put it on my pocket a go. It is very easy to carry and I pretty much take it everwhere I can legally go to with it.

The other day I got to shoot my friend's LCR and really like it. I felt I was able to aim better with it and really liked the feel of it. I had been looking at the Airweight for a possible 2nd option for EDC but now I am wondering which one would be the better choice.

So tell me which one is better LCR, Bodyguard or a Airweight 642?

I do not believe in polymer revolvers. I carry a 442 airweight with a titanium cylinder. Essentially it is a 340pd. weighs 12.7oz and has that Smith reliability. Also prefer the black annodized to the 642 silver annodized for less flash in a deep carry.

I have a LCR in 357 and love it. I have shot it side by side with my buddies 642 and I muc prefer the LCR. Shooting 38's out of both the lcr has noticeably less recoil (at least for me). 357s in the lcr feel very comparable to 38s in the Smith. The lcr fits my hand much better and I have yet to find a gun that points more naturally for me.

Over the years I have owned and carried (as BUGS mainly) many different snubbys. Most have been S&W of one sort or another (38, 638, 642, 640, 342, and probably a couple more). I have also owned several Colts - Det Special, Agent, and Cobra.

Last year I traded my S&W 342ti for a Ruger LCR 38 sp. The LCR has the best trigger that I have ever shot in any snubby. As for the recoil; honestly, for me the recoil between the LCR and the alum/titanium Smiths is about the same with comparable loads. (Your choice of grips is going to make a difference here.)

I still like S&W snubbies, but REALLY like my Ruger LCR.

I picked up an LCR for the wife at the gun show a couple weeks ago. I like it over the Smiths b/c I have large hands and have found the Smith cylinder release to dig into my hand after firing. The LCR release is far lass obtrusive and a better design imho.

I have the bodyguard 38 and it is just "ok". Lasers are very cheap, have already send the 38 back once with bad laser after 50 round or so. Also lock up is sloppy, takes two are three times to close the cylinder usually - I had S&W look at it and they said that is normal. If I had to do it over, I would go with Ruger LCR!

Airweight's are fine guns. I love my 637, and I don't say that lightly.
Out of the box Smith's have very good triggers. I have not shot a LCR, but in my experience Ruger's have crap triggers, YMMV.

had the 642, shot the bodyguard many times...never shot the LCR. the 642 to me shoots and carries nice...the body guard was very harsh...hated shooting that gun...laser is junk...so i would not even consider the body guard. i have heard some really good things about the LCR.

I have the 638|Bodyguard. It can be shot S/A. 15oz and you almost forget it's in your pocket.
