Default Re: Direct Action Tactical 2012 PSA Schedule

I took the Basic Handgun course from DAT as a prerequisite to taking the carbine class, I have been shooting handguns for about 15 years (I’m 30) but I’ve never had any formal training and WOW! I learned some great techniques for shooting from the guys at DAT. The cool thing was there were people in the class that had never shot a handgun before and some guys who had decked out 1911s that were in the same boat as me, the training cadre was able to customize the training for all of us. I felt better knowing that the people around me knew the basics when we stepped onto the range, and with the training we were all hitting vitals by the time lunch was digested. It didn’t feel like I was taking a step back, the instructors appreciated the experience brought to the table, and they made the shooting exercises more challenging for the guys that knew what they were doing, and I was able to support some ‘newbies’ with their first experience
