Which sights for 1911
My wife got me a 1911 for Christmas. YEAH!!!
However she could not get the model I wanted (Springfield PX9109LP).
+2 For New Holland Sportsman's Shop. Twice she has gone there to buy me a pistol and they have bent over backwards to work with her. Details will be in where to/not to spend money.
Long story short is Springfield is not even making them right now so they sold her a RO model and said we can change out the sights and the only other difference is the non lowered and flared ejection port and no front slide serrations.
I don't like the target sights and specifically DON'T want them. Looking at genuine Novak's and I can't decide between the regular 3 dot, fiber optics with green front and rear or green front and red rear and the Tritium night sights. I was originally thinking of the Tritiums, but the FO's at half the price are pretty tempting.
Tritium sights are the gold standard, but realistically, if it's so dark that I need tritium to see the sights will I be able to see a target that's far enough away to need sights to hit? Said another way, If it's so dark that I need tritium to see my sights won't any target that I can see be so close that I won't need sights to hit it?

Re: Which sights for 1911
What's this gun for? Competition, carry, bullseye or HD?
Competition: FO front sight, black rear. done. Easy and accurate. Very fast once you learn how to use it properly.
HD/Carry? I say Lo-Pro night sights. I thought the same way about night sights (If it's that dark I shouldn't be shooting) but it works if you're in a dark room and the target is back lit, by a window, in a bright part of the room, etc. Plus my 1911 with Tritium glows at night for me to find it on the bedside table.
I hear people like all black sights for bullseye shooting, but I go too fast for this aiming thing

By the way, Range Officer is better model then loaded.
Its basically a TRP with out all the fancy stuff.
And as far as your question about sight goes, you'll get more response from these guys...

Re: Which sights for 1911
I understand you want to use your 1911 for everything but think of it as a tool. You can have a tool that is awesome for one or two things and okay for everything else or a tool that is okay for everything but not awesome at anything. This is why Stevesterno was asking what are your plans for it. I have 4 different 1911's in different flavors for specific tasks. 3in to 6in , 22cal to 45 acp... 7rds to 20rds capacity Just my 2cents...

I'm partial to these, personally:

It appears that their site isn't working. I am a big fan of their Ledge sights. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

John Harrison makes replacement sights for the range officer. https://shop.harrisoncustom.com/

You must pay attention to the man behind the curtain. Or you will loose.

Re: Which sights for 1911
I bought a RO a few months ago & loved it, but I changed the sights out for a Dawson Precision tritium front & a Harrison tritium I-dot style rear sight. I liked the adjustable rear sight for range use, but decided I wanted the gun more for carry than range use, so I changed to combat style sights.

The Range Officer, unlike the TRP, uses a LPA cut, not Bomar. You need one of these:
