    SPORTS= SLAP Magazine, PULL Charging Handle, OBSERVE Chamber, RELEASE Charging Handle, TAP Forward Assist, SQUEEZE trigger.

    This is the acronym for immediate action when you have a stoppage on your M4/M16 weapon platform.

    S.O.F.T. - Sniper on fucking tower.

    MWAG - Monkey With a Gun.

    Scurvy Jack or SJ - Code for a stupid police officer in my inner circle of friends.

    CODFAG - Call of Duty ***, you'll see these morons on every video that features a gun that was included in the call of duty video games, they're typically being schooled by real gun owners because they're not very bright.

    Mister J - What you tell your friend when he starts making religious or racial jokes toward muslims or people of middle eastern descent and one is present, a way of making him stop before he gets in trouble.

    S.L.O.P. - Stupid Leader On Patrol, border patrol agents use this term to describe people who are squad leaders and should not be because they aren't bright and it's confusing as to how they got the position.

    SAW - Squad Automatic Weapon

    Liberal - Need I say more?

    The Brady Campaign - A bunch of people with ADHD who think guns are evil and make outlandish statements to garner attention.

    Bodies - Border Patrol term for illegals or traffickers.

    BDU's - Battle Dress Uniforms.

    ACP - Automatic Colt Pistol

    ANIB - As New In Original Box

    BBL - Barrel

    Cape Gun - One smooth bore barrel and one rifled barrel, typically in shotgun form.

    Funeral Grade - A high quality weapon that has little to no decoration on it.

    Prince of Wales Grip, LTRK or Long tang round knob - A semi pistol grip.

    Hang Fire - When a cartridge fails to fire but fires soon after, such as 2 seconds after the primer has been struck.

    Lifters - A secondary term in South Africa/Australia and some other countries outside the United States for extractors.

    MOA - Minute of Angle.

    NIB - New In Box never fired.

    NID - New Improved Design

    O/U - Over and Under shotguns.

    QD - Quick Detachable, generally applies to scopes and scope mounts that can be quickly detached.

    SMLE - Short Magazine Lee Enfield

    SA/DA - Single Action/Double Action, SA can also mean Semi Auto.

    Widows Peak - The point where one material meets another, such as a buttplate and the buttstock or the forend and barrel.

    .450 Dakota, .404 Jeffery, .375 H&H - Caliber references to big game guns that are commonly used in Africa.

    Excuse me if I barge in, but I find it a bit silly that in a stickied topic regarding quick learning of acronyms, all of the ones listed in the topic weren't added to the original post.

    So I decided to go through the entire topic and compile a list of every listed acronym. Well, every acronym related to firearms/laws/etc; I tried to keep basic (e.g. LOL, ROFL, IMO, etc) and non-common acronyms out of it. The list is alphabetized and it is currently up to 98 acronyms.

    Of course, the fact that my post will be on page 9 is a bit of a problem, I'd imagine, but hopefully, the OP or a mod can add this to the first post.

    JBT = Jack-Booted Thugs (a.k.a. Bad Cop)

    JFPO = Jews for the Protection of Firearms Ownership

    JHP = jacketed hollow point

    LEO = Law Enforcement Officer

    LTCF = License to carry firearms

    LOL = laugh out loud

    NFA = National Firearms Act (Regulates Machineguns, Suppressors, Short Barreled Firearms, etc)

    ND = negligent discharge (when you fire your gun when you did not intend to)

    NP = Negligent post

    NR = Non-Resident (doesn't live in PA)

    NRA = National Rifle Association

    OC = Open Carry

    OP = original post or original poster

    PAFOA = PA firearms owner's association (aka, poofa in some circles)

    PD = police department

    PIRATE = to steal or hijack

    PM = private message

    PMSC = pitcairn monroeville sportsmens club

    PPD = usually philly police department on this forum

    RSB = Rear sight base

    SA = single action, Springfield Armory

    SA/DA = single action/double action
