Default what if a glock was called something else?

not trying to start anything here, i am curious. lets just say glock was called something else like "Jones" when they 1st came out, same gun, same reliabilty. do you thing they would be as popular? you have to admit the name glock is a pretty cool name and i wonder how many people buy them just because they can say "glock". how many people would buy a JONES gun?
i did own a glock 26 and sold it because i didnt like it. it was given to me years back and just didnt like the feel.

Call it what you will, it would still have the same annoying grip angle.

The Luger style stock on a Glock requires one to break their wrist downward, which I find unnatural. Whereas, a 1911 stock can be gripped with a more natural locked wrist. Fortunately, most gun manufacturers followed John Brownings Colt 1911 stock angle.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Glocks appeal to the more limp-wristed gun owner, but I will say that I agree--I'm not accustomed to having my wrist limp down--but I'm a manly man.

You mean as though it was designed by Jesus Jones instead of Gaston Glock? If it was the same as the Glock and had the same marketing department as they did when they came out, chances are people would still bitch about it. You know, calling it the "Jesus" gun or something..

Who is Jesus Jones? Is he a gunsmith/designer?

Just remember some of the most successful gun designers didn't start out as such. So I guess it's possible they could design a new revolutionary firearm.

Not sure if this is a serious topic or not, I laughed at first, but, OK, I'll play ....

I don't have a single gun in my collection because of a "cool" name. The guns I have are the ones that fit my shooting needs and well as my hands and wallet. The name didn't matter.

It'd just mean haters would tout the line "Jones Leg" instead.....
additionally, it'd still go bang everytime the trigger was pulled and would run without issue if handled appropriately.
