    Default Groundhogs

I've been hunting groundhogs for several years and quickly found myself wanting to shoot the little pigs all the time. Just curious, do any of you guys know of a place with alot of groundhogs or have any information on groundhog hunting? I like shooting long ranges with my .223 and i'm trying new reloads this year, that i'm pretty excited about.

Knock on some farmers doors. They hate them, and it may even get you an invite to hunt some deer.

Go to Punxsutawney right around February 2nd. I've seen one right there in main street early in the morning the same time every year. He comes out of his hole around 7:25 so if your in the right spot, you'll get a good shot at him.

If you can't get that one, there's another really annoying one that's been seen all over the state. He's been called the second most famous groundhog in the state. He must be very elusive, because me and everyone I know will shoot the stuffins out of him if any of us see him, so he must hide very well.

I've never been told "no" by a farmer. I shoot my .223 with factory loads out to 300 no problem. Now you have me thinking of hog hunting before Spring Gobbler even comes in!

In them I'm usin LC'04 brass 24.8 WC844 = H335 fed GM205M primers and seated .0035" off the rifling . with no wind at 150 one hole groups. Can't wait to try it on some gophers the rifle dosen't jump and I can see when the bullet hits . (The crow was a spectacular feather cloud!!!!)

as a matter of fact i have, but not on purpose. Just practice shooting my bow in my backyard and one stepped out and i shot it in the shoulder with a field tip. Even that was fun. Anything that involves shootin g-hogs i'm there, you name the time and place!
